1. What this extension collects
Nothing is collected automatically. The extension transmits data in exactly one case: when you click “Scan This Site,” the domain of the page you are viewing (for example, example.com — never the full URL path, page content, or query parameters) is sent to Prequire’s scan service at scan.prequire.ai so it can analyze that site’s public homepage.
2. What is stored, and where
- On Prequire’s servers: the scanned domain, its scores, and standard web-server request logs (which include IP address). Scan records are used to operate and improve the scan service. They are not sold or shared with third parties.
- In your browser only (
chrome.storage.local, never transmitted): cached scan results (24 hours), your last five scanned domains, and a scan counter used for rate limiting. Uninstalling the extension deletes all of it.
3. What this extension does NOT do
- No browsing-history collection — it cannot see pages you don’t scan
- No analytics or tracking scripts of any kind
- No personal information requested, collected, or stored
- No account or signup required
- No data sold or shared with third parties
4. Permissions explained
- activeTab: read the domain of the current tab only when you click the extension icon
- storage: keep your scan cache and recent-scans list on your device
- scan.prequire.ai host access: send the scan request to Prequire’s API
